1961 T100SS tidy up
I have just bought a 1961 T100ss - it needs a repaint and a couple of parts to finish it ...
Can any one point me to where get the correct muffler for it - its the single Siamesed muffler - part 70-4415 ..not sure why its different from the std twin pipe model, maybe because the pipe diameter ?
the pipe dia on this version is 1 1/2 "
also need a headlight 3 way switch, and Kingfisher Blue paint / Silver, but that is easy enought to get sorted

Managed to get the muffler - from British Only in Austria.
Just in case anyone needs to know, the siamsed single muffler differs from the twin muffler bike, due to the mounting being in a different place.

Thanks for this information, I have just purchased a 1963 Triumph T100ss and I have been trying to find the correct Silencer & headers. The switches you are pop up on e-bay from time to time (under Lucas light switch)

Yes , the half panels are quite rare these days, anywhere in the world- I even like the full bath tub skirts, but many didnt and scrapped them. No the colour on the bike is some Holden car colour, but meant to represent the Regal Purple. I am in two minds as to whether to leave the paint as is, or strip it and repaint it in the correct colours. The pinstriping is all hand done.... I am after a centre stand for it ...thats about all it needs.

Based on the picture you posted, that paint looks pretty nice, even if not the original color. I also must say that the rest of the bike looks to be in excellent condition. I know that pictures tend to make ugly ducklings look like swans, but even your alum bits appear to be very nice with no nicks our gouges.
Since is still has the side panels, I guess it probably never saw a ride thru the bush like so many older bikes did when they were just "used bikes".
I've leave the paint as-is and maybe just give it a light polish and wax. If it is a vintage repaint, it's always nice to keep them in vintage condition.
regards,
Rob

Thanks Rob -yes it is VG for its age - its only done 20k miles ...not sure that many people "rode them through the bush" here in NZ ...they were mostly used as daily transport in those days...but this one hasnt done the miles to be one of those...
