Oh wow, I was never aware of that... I have done loads of engine work before but never had one down to this level. I trusted my mate who has been doing it for years. He normally has other people do his engines though to be fair.

So the book figure makes little difference then? It's more about taper?

It did need doing anyway as it was very pitted but obviously I was wrong on the wear front!

Also, the gap is partly due to the very large costs involved with such things! Took the internals in for machining about 3 months ago now I think. The people who are doing it have been dragging a bit. It should all fly together now though! I want it riding in less than 2/3 months now
