1966 TR6R Bobber just about done.....

I hope I'm doing this right and putting this in the right section?? Howdy! New to this board although I have been lurking for several mounths, (by the way, THANKS a bunch for all the info gained from this site!!) This is a 1966 TR6R that I am just finishing up, I got the frame already hardtailed and blended, and the engine as a running unit (but tore it down and rebuilt it because I trust myself more than the last guy) and put it all together from there....It has a five speed in it too which was nice when I pulled the trans apart and found that! Did all the fab and engine work myself, which I have to say was a fun learning exp. I work on boats for a living, and have modified and painted several bikes in the past, so I kinda know my way around a wrench. But never messed with Brit bikes before so this was all new. Let me know what ya'll think.

Your bobber

I like the light-colored frame and the clean lines around the seat, rear fender, and rear wheel. If it was mine, I'd be uneasy about the right rear engine mounting plate and I'd try to find another place for the oil filter, just to avoid the clutter in that area. I'm wondering what color you are going to paint the tank; more pics later, maybe? It is good to see an older Triumph rolling again and I hope you are having fun with yours.

Hey man, That is an amazing bike! Hopefully I'll be done soon. Seeing that you obviously have some experience with the 5 speed transmission, maybe you can help me.

How does the driving dog fit in the gear cluster? That's the last thing I need to put in there before I can close that part up?

Thanks and that's one awesome scoot!

Thanks, Yea, I've got pics from start to now if I can just figure out the best way to post 'em? I'm thinkin silver tank with black brit racing stripes down the top on one side.....?

Luke,
"How does the driving dog fit in the gear cluster? " I don't know excactly what driving dog your talkin about....I went buy the manual and placed one gear at a time in the order they showed. Then placed the shift forks after it was all together. Believe me, if I can help, I sure will.

Nothing against all these "rough cut" bikes but personally, I like PAINTED ones better!

...and Blue happens to be my favorite color...

Frame

I am considering an alternate frame set up for one of my bikes. I tail of your frame a bolt on, or did you go with a completely different frame? Thank you.

I like the mat finish of the blasted engine covers! Sometimes shiny is too much!
Great work!
