1973 Triumph TR7RV project

Hi all, just saying hello.
My project "progress" is slow but steady. Details are here:
http://sites.google.com/site/triumph750project/
Not a lot to see so far but a lot of work has gone in to a total engine rebuild. That should be finished soon when I can turn to getting the wheels built up and then I may have a rolling chassis to put the motor in. Then it might start to look like a bike again!
Best wishes,
Adam.

Bit more of an up date here on the home page:
https://sites.google.com/site/triumph750project/
Latest pics in here:
Project build up: https://sites.google.com/site/triump...oject/build-up

I dont know how useful all this information is to anyone else but I find it really useful to go back over what I have done on the bike. Kind of hammers it permanently into my otherwise sieve-like memory.. smile

Just a few more bits to add and the engine and transmission will be finished. Then I will start the re-wire with the aim of having a bike I can try and start sometime in November. At least, thats the plan...

Nice build, and good photodocumentary.

You're over the hump and picking up speed!

Changed to a Wordpress blog, easier to update.
Quite a bit of progress recently...
Wiring goes on this weekend, followed in a couple of weeks time by a battery, some fuel and a big kick...

Smile

Picked up a new battery , a Wassell electronic ignition and a few other bits from Paul Goff the other week. Yesterday I wired everything up ready to rock. Could not find anything to rig up a temporary fuel tank so put the grotty old tank on that came with the bike and splashed a couple of pints of super unleaded in. Tank leaks! Aahrgh so close but so far, decided to give it a go anyway, after a few kicks... vrooom! sounded good! Did not want to run it for long, what with petrol dripping on the engine.... but I was very pleased with myself. The oil pressure light even went out!

That h-clutch is so great. I am completely busted but I have moved that to the top of my wish list (Christmas 2012 maybe?). I am reluctant to research the cost (may deflate my hopes). Great that you were able to find someone who couldn't use it and hooked a deal. Good build.

Complete kit is £188 (+ Tax that Canadian's don't pay)

To get a balanced look, you need a similar Magura MC for the RHS brake, and possibly change the switches if you have a T140E type set up.

I fitted a 7 plate clutch with new pressure plate, T120 springs and Featherweight cable on Phil from LP Williams advice and it's fine.
