I would suggest not replacing the lens until you figure out how to keep the old one from falling the rest of the way off. Try the washer, its not going to keep it from cracking but maybe the washer will extend to some firmer lens area that won't fall away. Its a design flaw. All I had left was two screws through two round plastic mount tubes. I used two red light bulb condoms over the white bulbs until my new lens was received.
You cannot tell it is repaired when creating an epoxy fillet repair from the inside.
