This is not me; it's a guy on ADVrider.com (adventure rider), but the process would be the same for any spoked wheel.

Ack! the idea of a broken spoke equaling a fast blowout is enough to put me off

Hmm... never had a broken spoke in 25 years of riding, so not too concerned myself. I have noticed the Bonnie riders seem to get their share of them.

Besides, Mick... you have cast wheels, no need

While I'm quite sure it is possible to seal the spoke nipples in this way in order to use tubeless tires, if one has to adjust a spoke, you're going to break the seal on that nipple and that will require removing the tire and doing a re-seal for that spoke.

Personally I'd rather put up with the tubes.

Or just go to tubeless wheels.

Yep, it would certainly compromise the integrity of the seal. I wonder if this guy has ever adjusted the spokes to see what happens? It might still hold, since it is a 3 step lamination. I would imagine that the process used to seal the entire interior of the rim could have similar issues also.

I don't profess to know for sure, but it seems to me that spokes will only need to be adjusted if the nipples loosen off. With the nipples all sealed up to the rim and spoke, there should be little chance of that happening. The guy does say that the wheels should be trued etc before starting.

This is one of the reasons (I told myself) that I sold my TBS and bought a BMW R1150R. I really prefer tubeless for its simplicity. However, I am considering going back if I can find a nice TBS, Adventurer, or Legend.

Well, ace - you could have always gone the route of the cast rim swap...

Yes I could have had I known then what I know now. I do think though that the BMW was probably a better choice for the three trips through Mexico. Better luggage capacity and the engine on the BMW doesn't throw off as much heat.
I've just got to decide which of my BMW's to sell in order to make a Triumph purchase more palatable.
