Thruxton Dead

Hi all,
So I have a problem, picked up a used Thurxton last week (week ago today) however last night I was heading home.
Bike was warming up, about 2 min later i get on it
kick up the kick stand, grab the clutch and put it in gear
it dies, not just the motor dies like i didn't have the clutch in but all electronics are now not working, no lights nothing.
spend the next 30 min checking and swapping fuse's (on the right side fuse box next to the air box, is there another fuse box?)
few hours latter and a bit annoyed the bike is across town inside where no one will mess with it.
this morning i go over to the bike turn the key and it turns on, assuming the breaker reset, hit the starter and it dies again, all dead.
i am thinking that i have a short, but have no idea where to start.
any ideas?
thanks!

took the bike, re wired the after market tail light, turn signals that were on the bike, Pulled the conections for the battery, cleaned and put them back on and low and behold everything is fixed… little annoyed, more I look more odd things I find, bolts that don’t match, missing bolts, crappy connections… but over all I am pretty happy with this things, even with all that

it died the instant you put it in gear?
check the safety switches on the side stand and clutch lever...it sounds like they're not reading.

clutch switch is so some numbnuts doesn't start it in gear and hurt someone
stand switch is so you don't ride off with the stand down and flip to the left on a curve.

both of those are "modern idiot proof" measures and can be done away with.

it's not too uncommon for oxidation/wear to make those fail.
