Anyone familiar with the rejetting needs when changing from stock to Predator or Staintune on an '05 T100?
I've gotten various opinions an the need, and Staintune ads say that it's not necessary.
Thanks for any help.
Bob

I can't address the 05 T100; I don't know what jets they have stock. I do know that Bonnies come from the factory running on the lean side. Adding a more free flowing silencer will cause it to run even more lean. Lean = heat. My advice is to have it dynoed with an exhaust gas analyzer after you have changed the mufflers. This will tell you exactly how it is running. Maybe another 05 T100 owner gave give you specific info.

Carl is correct - the bike is way too lean from the factory, and any mods that increse air flow (less resrtictive mufflers, air filter, snorkle removal, airbox removal) will only worsen the situation. On '30 T100, factory main jets are 110s (I don't know about '05), and I would think that you'd want to try about 130s to start with. Also, jettison the AI and open up the idle mixture screws. Good luck.

Carl -
I have ordered a new exhaust and a replacement airbox for my 05 America. Both come with new jets. I my case, I needed to know which jets to use!
I got a reply from Brent Smith of newbonneville.com (great service and good selection) about the jets. he says to use the jets supplied with the Freak Airbox Removal Kit - the jets that come with the Sceptre Exhaust System are for the stock air box.
I guess Predator or Staintune don't include jets? They are just as restrictive as stock?
If you go through the dyno effort, please post your results!
cheers,
-jtr

Jtr,
Follow Brent's advice. Each individual Bonnie can differ. What is optimum for one, may not be optimum for another. Make you mods, install the jets that came with the air box removal kit, then have it dynoed and the exhaust analyzed. then you will know for sure.

Thanks for the respones, all.
I am ordering the Thundrbike mufflers forn NZ, and they say they don't need re-jetting.
I'm going to replace the AI at the same time, so will have it analyzed to be sure of the emmisions.
Bob
