Take a good look at the tires. Make sure they are in good condition. And, you may as well check the chain tension while you are down there.

The chain is baked. I'm changing out the sprockets to a 18/45 configuration. Other than that me thinks I'm ready to reek havoc !

Perhaps a bit of carb cleaner in the fuel to remove any varnish, etc. that may have developed in the carbs (unless you ran them dry before storage).

Just a thought: Jim

I reek of carb cleaner as I type. Just picked up a 2001 Suzuki DRZ400S dual-sport to noodle around in the woods on. Bike hadn't been started in over 2 years, left with gas in the tank and carb. It would start, but wouldn't do anything more than that. So off came the carb and we be a cleaning and a soaking...

+1 on the carb cleaner in the gas if it's running kinda OK.

Errmmm a 595 Daytona doesnt have carbs guys it's fi.

I'm not plugging the brand, but the best one I've found for fuel injected motors is Tech-Ron by the Dow (Chevron) company. It was recommended to me by more than one mechanic and I've had very good luck with it.

Just my 2 cents worth: Jim
