The Daytona Super 3 was a much older design than the 955. Its not an upgrade and I doubt its even possible.

i was aware that the superIII is a older design, as i had a 1996 superIII before i got my current daytona, a 1999. a shop owner that will remain nameless said they did this,(install a set of superIII cams into a next generation daytona). like you, i find this odd. answering the next question about the hotter cams for the daytona......i was referring to the 595 next generation daytona, like my 1999 model. i would have to go and look it up but triumph made a set of race cams for that model. i am not sure that they make one for the current engine model.

i found out that triumph made a " race cam set" for the 97-98 engine daytonas to "fix" the lame ones that they installed from the factory. they ladeled it as a "race cam" because it sounds better than a "replacement 4 what should have been there cam" it was later installed in the 99 and up bikes. so it wouldnt improve a 99 and later engine. i knew i had seen some before but i just got the story as to what they really are. my friend at the local shop told me to just install some of the adjustable cam timers. he said it wasnt worth the effort... i guess ill have to stick with the factory ones..
