Just considering modifications for my 2002 955i...Has anyone found a huge difference in performance by adding a Power Commander??? My bike is mostly stock other than a Triumph highside pipe.

I think that most here with the Sagan will stear you toward the Tune/Boy, Tune/Edit program. Where as the PC is bandaided and you load maps, the T/B T/E allows you to plug directly into the Sagan typically with a laptop and you are able to cleanly remap. Do a search on Tune/Boy and you'll see that it does much more too.

No, I don't work for Wayne, I just think it's the best way to go the get the utmost performance for the SAGAN equiped bikes for any given equipment or situation.

Don

I have a unit similiar to the Power Commander called a TechLusion with four adjusting pots. Eventually I'll fork over the dough for a tuneboy/tune edit, but for now the Techlusion is awesome! I have a lot more acceleration and the flat spot on my tt600 at 3-4K rpm is pretty much gone. It is a noticeable difference and worth it in my opinion.

Power Commander isn't worth much of anything unless you use it to remap your bike. Just plugging anything it doesn't make a difference. I am with Don on this one- TuneBoy is a far more powerful tool than a Power Commander and it costs about the same amount.

Go soothingly on the grease mud, as there lurks the skid demon.

I have fitted a Powercommander to my '02 Tiger and it is excellent and worth every cent. I fitted it mainly because I fitted a Staintune sports muffler and the bike had a big flat spot at 2000-3000. They have this anyyway from new as this is where emissions are tested and they are tuned lean. I bypassed the O2 sensor and had the bike dyno tuned by a well known race tuner. He did about 50 dyno runs and used most of a tank of fuel but I could not be happier.

In many ways the best part of the powercommander is the electronicly adjustable "pumper carby" feature. The newer models of the Powercommander have this feature and it makes a huge difference. This allows you to set levels for extra fuel injection when the throttle is opened rapidly (and I always open the throttle rapidly). My bike has massive low down torque and it bogs gdown far less. It takes off from the lights much faster than before. All in all, the Powercommander is fairly expensive to have fitted and tuned correctly but in my opinion, good value for money.
