I’m looking for suggestions on a choice of a carburetor. I have a T120 that I’m going to run a TR6 head on. The head has had some porting done on in inlet side. Inlet valves measure 1.60”, the inlet openings in the head measure 1.125” and the manifold inlet measures 1.250” The cam is a E3134 with a non radius tappet. The bike is meant for street use, what would be a good choice of carburetor? Should I change the inlet tappet to “R”?
Lastly, what is the significance in the number suffix on Amal carbs? I know the first three are the size family, I’ve seen the suffix represent the outlet in 16ths. Example what is the difference between a 389/97 and 389/203?

You would probably get a better response if you posted this question in the Classic veteran and vintage forum
