I just checked mine. There was some build up of grime around the latch assem. that locks the pluger in place. I cleaned it up reset the pluger and it snaped right back into place.

I would not recomend pulling the Cam Chain Ten. if you don't know the correct way of doing it. It's very easy to knock the cams and crank off timing while the chain is loose with the C.C.T out of the motor. Use a wood wedge between the slider and the block to keep the chain tight while the CCT is out of the motor. You will need to have the valve cover off the motor to do this.

Cool thing about it is that if the chain is wraped out of shape you can replace it without removing the motor or pulling the motor apart.

Good Luck..

Kurt

Hi,

Yes I have had a cam chain tensioner fail. It is an automatic adjusting/ratchet design, but it did not adjust.

I have posted details of a manually adjustable tensioner previously, if you would like to do a search. Not a perfect (colour) match, but more reliable.

Ciao,
Geoff
