Bogging out

I'm having some issues with my bike bogging out. It started this morning on my way to work, It started up fine, warmed up for about a min or two then took off. everything ran fine until i hit the light, I'd open it up to take off and it just guttered out on me. It would start to go fine then after throttle was twisted more than 1/8th of a turn it would bog out again, I tried twisting past it but it didn't do any good. I milked it on the shoulder and got it going again, but then had the same problem on the way home. any ideas?

first did you open the fuel tap

second does it have gas in it

third clean out the overflow pipe that is under the tank

fourth is it ok with the cap off if yes the cap is not venting the tank.

fifth is it a CA bike if so loose the charcoal cannister

sixth change the plugs.

seventh let us know if this does not get it.

Can't say I understand what bogging out is, but you could check the coils....

bogging out/down it just means that the fuel air mixture isnt correct. Check you plugs, black, to much gas, white, not enough..The gas that you use could also pose a problem, water in it or.....Maybe even and VERY dirt air filter. and if the gas is good and the air filter is good then it is most likely a sensor or something. Does it do this ALL of the time or just now and then? I noticed when my 00 rs/02 daytona motor was bogging down it was because the airbox that I was using was too restrictive so I had to cut it open.

realized that two of the bolts/screws holding the left carb float bowl on were missing, I replaced them with some bolts from lowes and got her into the shop. she was running a little odd around 85mph and at about 80-90% throttle so I wanted to get the carbs adjusted anyway. The tech said I had a fuel leak, an air leak and the carbs were out of sync. They got it sorted out over a long weekend I wouldn't have been able to ride on anyway and just picked it up today. Seems to be running good, hard to tell when you're leaning over about 30 degrees on the highway from the wind. I'll have to get her out and run her through her paces this weekend and see what's up.

My 01 1200 trophy just started the same thing. Check out comments. It ideals fine but starts like crap in 1st and 2nd. Real gutteral sound and almost dies when really cold. I'm going to check the plugs and hope its not the coils. I just had (3 months ago) the valve, carb and etc checked.

Everything was running great. Now there's some warm-up issues & flooding(?), oh yeah, the cam seal is leaking now, I'm gonna try and drop it off for my christmas vacation and get it fixed while I'm gone.

might be bad fuel. I don't have EFI.
