prepping pistons for storage

I bought a set of 955 pistons and liners with the intention of installing them in my 885 thunderbird "someday". I don't really feel it's worth cracking the engine cases for 70cc right now, but I came across them cheap and figured I'd install them if I ever had the engine torn down for another reason.

What should I do to make sure that they don't rust or corrode if they end up sitting on a shelf in the basement for two or three years?

Go to a gun shop and buy,

a large container of RIG grease, put a heavy coat on the parts and double bag in plastic with a small pack of desiccant They will not have to be checked for at least ten years.

RIG avail from: Brownells or midway

www.brownells.com

This is the best you can do and will clean up wiith a quick spray of wd-40 when you are ready to use the parts. They will be in perfect cond.
