Dyno Jet vs Thruxton needles

Hi!

I´m planning to do the air box removal this winter and therefore I have to do some serious rejetting. I have read the Jenk´s jetting guide and a lot of other suggestions on jetting. But, my bike (-01 Bonnie) is Dyno Jetted by the previous owner.

My question is: does anybody know how the DJ needles compare to for instance Thruxton needles, that seem to be the most common? Do I need bigger or smaller jets if I keep the DJ needles? Or might it be better to go for the Thruxtons directly?

Not really sure but

When I narked my '02 I ran 138, 140 mains, 42 pilots and 1-1mm shim. and stock needles. I put my air box back in and now run the uni 128 mains 42 pilots and thrux needles, an 1 .5mm shim, I run D&Ds. I went back to the airbox because of the low end loss. I'm heavy and need this more than all top end on our twisty roads. to tight to go wot so you use low grunt a little more, I would call dynojet as their needles are diffrent from the factory tapers as are their jet numbers.

Talked to a mechanic at the local Triumph-dealer today. He said that it was best to go back to stock or Thruxton needles, otherwise it would be really difficult to get it right. So I ordered some Thruxton needles and will go with that.

pelle...I installed the NARK a few months back and found the 150 Mains that came with the kit too large on my "02" with Thrux needles.
I wound up with 140's, and 42's for the pilots... 1-shim on the Thrux needles and 3 turns out. I have the Sprint pipes with 4" baffles installed in the adapter pipe.
