Decel shimmy

I am getting a decel shimmy at about 40mph on a '02 triumph 17k with fairly new avon azaro..balanced ok,air ok....just got this bike about 3 weeks ago and seemed ok on my first outing of about 2 hrs, then last weekend i did a 4 day trip in the mtns and notice this shimmy when i did a hands off decel. I did adjust the chain before i left on the trip, my first chain adjustment since my dirt bike days( coming off of 3 shaft drive bikes).....any thoughts

get the front end off the ground

swing the fork lock to lock and see if there is any bumpy feeling (worn steering head bearings) and push and pull on the forks front to back if there is any play and the above did not appear grease and adjust the preload on the steering head bearings.
at 17,000 it is probably about time.

these are the first places to look.

also loosen all the clamps from the wheel up and and allow all the parts to realign it is easy to pick up alittle tweak, hard to really bend anything without a crash.

I had a similar shimmy on my TBS after installing a new set of Avon storms. I thought it was the steering head bearings but the dealer installed a new front tire and the shimmy is gone.
