Does any of you folks have any hints for modifying the standard 07 America pipes (without risking warranty). Surely someone has a system with satisfactory results without the need to outlay more money for after-market pipes.

midlifecrises,

Have you tried it yet? I have Sta-in-tunes on my TBA, but I was thinking of performing a bafflectomy on my stock pipes just to see how they sound.

No Kem. I have chickened out. I have found the company Motorcycle Exhaust Professonals here in Aus and I am booked to have the pipes rebaffled next week. They remove some baffles and replace with larger pipes for better 'note' and better midrange power without rejetting. Their words. $320 aust or about $200 us. I will repost when done for feedback.

I've done 3 different pairs now and they all sound quieter than many aftermarket pipes. I used a quality holesaw around 3/4 to 7/8 inch and a 2 1/2 ft extension and drilled holes in a circle overlapping the holes and as close to the inside of the pipe without tearing up the inside and get as close to the baffle pipe as possible. then pop out the pipe with a fat piece of round stock or similar with a 2 lb hammer. They do bark when you really twist the throttle and don't sound tinny at all.
