2002 s3. 6k miles. Oil leak seems to be coming from the front sprocket area. Drips from kickstand switch. Anyone seen this one before?

Parts or seals I should order before tearing into it?

Posted this in the S3 forum area, but thought it might be smarter to post it here.

A leak in that area is usually the countershaft seal. I've gone through 3 of them. They are easy to replace. You drill a hole in the old seal, put a screw in and pull it out. Grease the OD of the new one and tap it in with a socket.

That's it - #26

(Except that is the main output shaft, not countershaft)

Here's a pcitorial of Oil Seal Replacement procedure.
