I'm riding a 2002 Bonneville. I have the air injection removal kit, airbox removal kit, Bubs exhaust, and rejetted carbs. Today I was riding the bike and I was waiting at a stop light and the engine cut out on me. It started right up so I didn't think anything of it. As I was sitting at yet another red light there was a "klank" from under the air filter covers. I imagine this is the metal rim from the K&N filter hitting the inside of the cover, but I'm not sure and I'm not sure what would cause that.
As I got closer to home the exhaust started to "pop" which I've never had happen before. I adjusted the idle mixture knob on the left hand side of the carburator to a lower setting so the engine was running at a lower RPM at idle but the popping noise was still occurring every once in a while.
Does anyone have any ideas as to what is causing this?
