I have a 2003 T100 and I have purchased a nice chrome oval taillight and some chrome "mini" turn signals to replace all the stock plastic stuff. The usual mounting place for the mini turn signals is just behind the top of the rear shock mount; however, I have Triumph leather panniers and installing the lights in the usual place would interfere with opening the panniers.

The only alternative mounting place I have found is behind the license plate itself and by using the license plate as the support for the mounts. Anyone found a better alternative?

Hey GaryD,

I only just found this thread today and saw you got no answer on it.

Did you get a solution?

I went looking for bits today to do the same. Same light on a T100...

I'll do my best to describe it. The best solution I could come up with (will fit tomorrow) is stainless 'eye bolts' (6mm) which I will bolt through to from the plate side. This leaves a flat hoop that the blinkers can be bolted through immediately behind the number plate. 5mm 'eye nuts' may be better but I couldn't get any quickly.

I thought about angle brackets but couldn't find anything neat enough.

Will take a photo if you need it - let me know.

How about something like this, it should be easy enough to fabricate. They are sold under the name "RRsend"

Gary, I had the exact same situation, need to have those bags!!! Liek Rodburner said, I mounted them directly to the rear fender. I drilled a hole in the fender, just bolted them on. The omly tricky bit is making sure you secure the wiring to the underside of teh fender, I am using wire clamps bolted through the old tailight mounting holes...

I have a 150 series rear tire, it does not interfere at all with the lights, they clear even when completely bottomed out on the rear shock.

Anyway, heres a picture.
