My S3's fuel pump makes a loud whining noise when the ignition is first switched on, this lasts for approx 10-15secs then stops, after it has stopped is when I start her up, a couple of days ago I noticed the whining noise was permanently there whilst the engine was running, this only became obvious when I stopped on a hill and put the side stand down whilst in gear to stop it from rolling.
Is this normal as the mechanic says the fuel pump's ok and if it goes then he will sort it, surely this is not normal, please if anyone can help me with an answer or remedy, I would be most chuffed.
