Blue Job works fantastic. It is the only thing I know that will take the yellow and blue off of pipes and not damage them. Got mine off Ebay.

I had a similar problem with my header pipe. Not sure what got on there, but when it got hot it cooked on and discolored the pipe. Used some Flitz metal polish which removed almost all of it, and for the very hard to remove areas I used Flitz with some extra fine steel wool. Pipe looks like new, no scratches or swirl marks.
