Speed Four 02
I have a problem with my speed four, it was running fine yesterday but this morning I turned the key and got no indications on the dashboard (engine/oil lights, neutral light not even the speedometer). The alarm, headlights and break lights work fine, battery is OK but the ignition button is dead.
Any idea what might be the problem?

This is going to sound silly, but it's happened to me and others; but have you checked the run/stop button? Sometimes it gets bumped and can be frustrating. The other thing to look for is the kickstand. Is it all the way up? Sometimes the ignition interrupt switch on the kickstand can get dirty and not allow the bike to start. Just my 2 cents worth. Good luck!

no, its none of the 2.
I checked the engine stop switch and the bike normaly starts if you have the stand lowered, it only kills the engine if you select a gear. Engine should start and run normaly with the stand down as long as you have neutral selected.
Thanks anyway

Is anything stressing the wiring coming out of the righthand switchgear? The dash being off like that is usually an indication that the kill switch circuit has been activated, even if the switch itself has not.
Cheers,

promufa, The symptoms are just like the kill switch being activated...been there more than once.
Could the switch gear have become wet? Spray some WD40 into the housing.

Yeah the bike got rained on last night. Will try with the WD40 and see how it goes.
Thanks!

It happened to me again after my last post here! Had to wiggle the damned switchgear around to start my bike. That is a really dumb design; the wiring should exit from the bottom of the switchgear instead of the side, and it doesn't make me any happier that I have to move the brake lever to get clearance for the wiring!
Cheers,
-Kit

Problem solved !
One of the fuses had oxidized connectors. Wiped em clean with WD40 on a piece of cloth, reinserted and bike works perfectly fine.
Thanks all for the suggestions
