Datatool Alarm Removal

I've just become the third owner of a 1999 955i Speed Triple which has a Datatool Veto Plus fitted, probably at delivery from the dealer when new (so says the original sales invoice from Jack Lilley). I really don't want the hassle of an alarm and would appreciate chapter and verse on how to remove it. Any definitive guides or resouces to consult?

TIA,

Alarm Removal

I recently installed a Datatool alarm on my 07 America. I got it off EBay from a dealer. It had everything needed for the install.
Hopefully yours is the plug-n-play unit not the one that needed to be spliced into all the connections.
If so there will be one problem. The plug-n-play version has a square plug that plugs into the factory wiring harness. Bikes not supplied with alarms have a dummy plug that goes where the alarm plug is.
You can pull the plug out to disable the alarm but without the jumper plug that goes into that socket your bike will not start.
Usually the installer is required to send that plug into Datatool for registration.
Ask a local Triumph dealer if they can get you that jumper plug so you can remove the alarm system.

Alarm removed, plug installed, bike starts. But... horn blows fuse!! Trouble is, fuse blows on pressing button even with the horm disconnected. Spend all afternoon checking wiring for shorts, etc. Find the return wire for the horn is live all the time and gets connected to earth when I press the button. Culprit turns out to be a link on the dealer-supplied alarm override plug which connects horn live to the horn return. Quick snip and all's well again.
