Question latest info on ai removal has me really confused

OK... I'm confused. 1 person says just plug the air tube and cap the vac line after removing the ais. Another says on recently carbed Bonnies there is no vac port but rather an electric air thingie that just disconnects and no capping is necessary. Can anyone clarify?
