Well today I put new oil in it and then I got to thinking that maybe some water may have gotten in the fuel tank and thats why it was backfiring. So I drained the fuel out and put some fresh stuff in and fired it up. It ran rough and backfired still for a couple of minutes (I guess burning off what was left in the line and carbs)and then it smoothed right out so I took it out for a ride and its back to normal

. I guess that was the problem. Its funny, I called the Triumph service department and told them how it was running after I washed it and they said to take the headlight bucket apart and look for water because that may be causing my problem

. Anyway I never saw any water in the oil after I drained it so it must have been my imagination
