Clear coat scratch removal.

What is a good product and technique for getting very fine scratches out of my tank's finish?

Thanks,

Kevin

i use meguires 3 step polish system, tis a lot of hard work, all by hand, swirl marks are next to imposible to remove on factory paint, it will never look like glass, but it all depends on the clearcoat and the thickness, dont use course abrasive polishes, use the finer finishing ones as it will gradualy fill the scratches and make them almost invisible hth

Meguires Scratch-X works real well on small scratches.

depends on the depth, but any scratch i've encountered that doesn't require sanding has come out perfectly with mothers scratch remover. In fact just yesterday it looked like someone scratched the tank on my new thunderbird and mothers took it right out w/o leaving a haze. thats what i like so much about it....i can get out scratches that seem deep enough that any polish that will remove it would have to be abrasive enough to where it would leave a haze that would then need to be removed with the next finest grade of polish. But i find i never need that and yet it gets out some pretty good scratches. Just a waxing afterwads is all i need. good stuff. Won't say it's the best or anything because to be honest it's the only one i've used aside from a few mguiers polishes, but i like it better than those.

The late Billy Mays has good things to say about Simoniz-Fix-it-Pro-Pen

No way, really?

For 20 bucks, someone should buy it (think of Mays' family), and see how well it works.
