Now ready for another dyno run that will happen Thursday.
Current set up. Pilot jet, 38, main jet 138-134-138, Trophy airbox, Speed triple cams. Stock needles.

I did try to put 2 shims under the needles but it turned out to be too rich in the bottom part. Before 4500 RPM, the bike was very hesitant. After I removed the neddles, everything seemed fine. I think that by now, I should be close to the final set up. I still have a little popping on decel from 4000 RPM down but much less than before. That is a problem for me, I like this popping, I may try to keep a bit. Tomorrow I will try to use only one shim under the needles to see if it does a change or not. By the feel of it, I could be richer from 6000 RPM but may end up too rich below.

Thursday will tell. After this run, I will try to solve the electrical problem, this ***** bike is running on 3 cylinders only.

Been looking forward to your update, Great to see its progressing.
Have a quick question, why are you using a 134 jet on the center and the 138's on the ends? Seems like big difference. Is the airflow to the center carb that much lower?

From previous reading, it seems that most "jetter" put a smaller jet in the middle. I think that for me to know the thruth, I would need an analyser plugged on each cylinder. No such thing available here to my knowledge.

I am going from a mix of reading on previous experience and what the dyno guys says and what I think. At this point I can say that 2 shims was too rich. I may try only one shim today as I have the feeling that I am a little on the lean side at lower RPM.

I will know more Thursday.

If you fancied a good long ride - Great Bay in NH have one IIRC.

Just remember; an awful lot of the free advice you will get on forums is worth exactly what you paid for it. There will always be somebody trying to convince you to do something really stupid, just because they did it or want to do it.

I do a few time a year but every time I went by they were closed. Actually my real riding season opening ride is to go around Hampton Beach. May be one time they will be open.
