Sold my t-bird today.
Sort of sad to see it go.

It think I am going to try a Yamaha FZ1 now. I think it will fit my needs better.

The triumph is the first bike I have owned so I thought it might also be good to try some other brands and see what they have to offer.

Maybe later I will get a tiger or T-bird sport when I can afford it.

I'll probably check in from time to time but I'll probably be hanging on the FZ1 boards.

Bye.

Congratualtions on your sale.

I must admit I am puzzled by your choice of replacement though: You originally said that you loved your TBird but wanted something that had more ability off road so were going to sell it to buiy a Tiger. IIRC you said something along the lines of "I'd keep them both but..."

But now you are buying an FZ1 which actually will increase the above limitation. Nice bike but...

I guess your interests changed! :-D

Yup. Interests changed.

I did 950 miles to arkansas and back and realized what I really wanted.

I still want to do some dirt riding, but I think I may start on a KLR or something. I think heavy weight and first dirt bike will lead to a lot of repair bills.

I decided to go with a more powerful sport touring type bike that I can have more fun with.

Once you get to know me you'll find out that I change my mind a lot.

For right now I want an FZ-1. Who knows what I'll be on next year. I've just begun riding and I have a lot of catching up to do :-D

5.6 gallon gas tank and 120hp should work for a pretty good SPORT-touring bike.

Good cover story. I'll use it next time I have to go upriver for 12-24 months.

About 100 miles out of Dallas, I said "I can't take it!". I suited up, we unloaded her off the truck and I rode the rest of the way back to NWA. Despite the fact that it was a very windy day, it was great ride. I'm well pleased and thank you for selling it to me. I had an awesome 98 TBird before and sold it when I got the touring bug. I always sort of regretting selling it so I'm very happy to have another. On my previous TBird, I always longed for a sixth gear. In fact, I changed the rear sprocket to ease the rpms. I pretty much cruised at 80mph the whole way back today and it was very relaxed. Anyway, thanks again. I look forward to many happy miles.

Glad you made it home ok.

The t-bird enjoyed the mountains when we were up there.

I test rode and fz-1 today. It was nice. Different, but nice.

Did you ride on the cafe seat or switch to the king and queen seat?

-Cafe all the way. No bootie problems but I did get some rockin' pinched right shoulder action. I actually wish the bars were shorter but I don't think it's possible.

You may wish to try some clubman / condor bars, I bleieve you would find you could roll them round to give you the feel fo shorter bars.
