I have been looking around for a standard TB as a stablemate to my '04 TBS.

I am looking for an '02 or '03, but have seen not a one for sale anywhere.

Are these models scarce or are they soooo good that people are just nor parting with them?

Any dealers have any old stock still on their floors?

Yes, yes and yes.

There is a "new" never sold TBS here in Texas at a dealer.

The TBird was Triumph's best selling bike in '95 and '96 I think. Since then, it figured as a steady rather than spectacular figure in the sales statistics until its demise. As a 'Classic' bike, there is no pressure to update to the latest model each year. Plus, most folks who buy them tend to know what they want from a bike and then keep them for a while.

I've had three TBirds, and my "last of the line" '04 is definitely a keeper.

If it is an '04, then it is a Thunderbird Sport.

There are always a few advertized on cycletrader.com, but at prices I think are pretty high. '02s and '03s are not as likely to be on the market yet as their owners are still enjoying figuring out whether to keep them or not. There never were very many to start with in the US, since all of Triumph sells less than 7500 bikes a year over here. Where you are I would imagine they are scarce as hen's teeth.

Too true!

As far as I can gather there is only 1 TB here and only 2 TBS, glgavins and mine ( not counting the 1 '04 that is as yet unsold)

You need to just get on the phone and start calling dealers.
They really don't advertise items that they couldn't sell in the first place.
When I bought my leftover 03 I also found one in Long Island and one in Pennsylvania.
I called about a dozen dealers and found 3 new leftovers.

Got a used 01 here: http://www.triumphpgh.com/

Go to the Triumph website and get the dealer names/numbers.

Bob: if you found one at a reasonable price here, how would you get it there without spending an arm and a leg for freight?

Ya, that will teach him to live on a tropical island out in the pacific while we dumb suckers shovel snow up until Easter!
We feel for him.
