I replaced the one on my Legend cost me about $375. It's a Hagon with adjustable pre-load and compression dampening
Got it from some guy in CT. cant remember his name...someone on this forum should know.

I am guessing that it was from Dave Quinn Motorcycles.
He is the USA distributor and a fine chap at that.

I replaced mine with a Technoflex and worked on the forks.
To replace the shock with a Triumph part would be a useless operation since the stock part is rather poor in quality but very high in price. For the same price you can get a real shock.

Adjustable for preload, rebound, high and low speed compression.

Never heard of technoflex I'll have to google it.

I have been researching what shocks and fork springs are available for the T-Bird.

The results so far are in this spreadsheet.

T-Bird Shocks

Amazingly my rear shock seems to be fine after 28,000 mi. Certainly not a performance item but until I upgrade the front end it will do.

Here is the link to their site. I did get the shock straight from them since they do not have a distributor in Canada.

Other Motorcycle: Can't afford two!
Extra Motorcycle: Three would be insane
I put on a used Thunderbird sport unit - fully adjustable and under $100. It's a HUGE improvement over the stock TBird item - it does rais the rear a little though.
