Please can Anyone tell me what type of spark plugs go best for my just aquired 2001 TB and what else do I need to do for a tune up.

I'm going thru the same thing - purchased bike with unkown maintainence intervals. Plug type is NGK DPR 8EA-9. $2.09/each at Auto Zone.
Valve adjustments may be due, depending on mileage.
I changed out all the fluids - or at least had them looked at by the shop - coolant, oil, clutch and brake.
If your going to attempt the valve adjustment on your own-the plugs can be changed without any fuss at all when the valve cover has been removed. If not there are a number of suggestions on how to do it - use the search feature to find them.

I have an '03 TB and I use Autolite #4163 sparkplugs in it. They run fine for me. $2.98 a twin pack.
