04 TBS low end rattle

My 04 TBS has a rattle under load from idle to 2500 RPM. I've checked everything on it and it's all tight. It sounds like it is coming from the engine. It rattles in all gears if I drop below 2500 and give it throttle.
Anyone had this problem?

two things i'd check are the muffler clamp covers , they get bent and rattle .

the other is the chain guide on the front of the swing arm , they wear out and your chain starts slapping metal .

I believe that the rattle you here is very normal for these bikes. Mine sounds a bit like a diesel until 3k.

Try higher octane gasoline, it might help.

Yes, I believe this is normal for the triples, nothing to be concerned about. Mine does it, has since it was new. Be concerned if it does it at any higher than 3K though...

Other Motorcycle: I wish!
I have heard this referred to as a 'ball bearing in a coffee can' noise at lower revs.
Nothing to worry about.
It is just a characteristic of these triple engines.

Thanks guys.
I use the highest octane gas and always Shell.
Now that I think about it, I never heard it until it removed the TORs and reinstalled the stock mufflers.

Having just gone through the whole Alternator bolt ordeal, I can tell you that, on my bike at least, the alternator bolt rattle *starts* around 2500-3k RPM and will continue up to 4-5k RPM. It is also significantly louder than the standard triple "gurgle" that typically ends at distinctly 3k.
So, my advice is that if the bike is new to you and you are not familiar with its sounds and vibrations, if your rattle ends right at 3k, you are probably ok. If it continues over 3500-4000 or higher, you should look at the alternator and drive system.
I had owned my Adventurer for just a month or two before my Alternator bolt failed (on the clutch side), and I could tell immediately that something had changed. The noise and vibration was well over the threshold of "normal", for me at least. It almost felt like a bad connecting rod, the mirrors were useless, and if I let go of one side of the handlebars, it would vibrate so much, well, I just knew something wasn't right.

Mine always did that, but rather than a rattle I would describe it like a gearbox resonance that you get in a car when you lug it down too slow in a high gear.
So, would a resonance describe what you hear?

Mine is always just below 3000 to maybe 3500.
