Lower 99 Adventurer

Is there a way to lower a 99 Adventurer? I am 5' 2" and I am just touching at the balls of my feet - not enough to get me out of trouble if needed.

Can the monoshock be adjusted or know of any lowering kits? Any suggestions? I have asked the local dealerships, and they haven't gotten back to me.

change the shock....

You may want to check around and look at some of the kawasaki rear monoshocks. When my shock died on me, I went to a KX1000 rear shock, lots of room for adjustment and it can be rebuilt. Can usually find one on ebay for less than $100 shipped.

adventurers up to ser # 71698 had the shorter dogbones , so an easy switch would be installing the legend dogbones part# 2059480 . after that serial # adventurers already had the longer (longer=lower) links . the part # is clearly marked on them .

if you already haver the legend links , you can still lower but you'll have to make your own .

Legend drop links will do the trick. These dog bone looking things on the rear suspension from a legend will lower it 1" & 1/4
Or you can make your own, 1"X1/4" mild steel flat bar. Cut to 8.5"
STock links are 7" centre to centre.
To lower 1 inch holes are drilled 7&1/4" c to c
To lower 1 1/2" 7&3/8" c to c
To lower 2" 7&1/2 c to c
Drop the fork legs through the triple trees a maximum of 5/8"

By the way I forgot to mention the holes in the drop links are 15/32" diameter
