TBS or a TB?

I am in the very fortunate position of having both these bikes. ( Well I bought the TB for my wife's 40th birthday present) but I get to ride it anytime. I often think, if I was to have to part with one of them, which would I keep?

It is remakable how two very similar bikes can be so different.

TB
Very laid back and relaxed - but rev it over 5k and she goes some. Loads of chrome - a real eye catcher, everyone wants to look at it.

TBS - a bit more arrogant - a TB with attitude, more aggressive riding position - noticeable more power - but I think it suffers from an identity crisis.

If I could only keep one - which would it be..................?

Such a difficult question.

I would have to keep the TBS. A comment on one of the threads was so true. It delivers so many smiles per mile.

I like the look of the adventurer and legend. Never seen them in the flesh. Were they all sent across the pond? Were there similar differences between them??

Love to hear your thoughts

I never cared for the blacked out engine look that much - hence is why I stuck with my '96 T-Bird instead of upgrading to TBS when they started being produced. I then proceeded to add as many TBS (and Speed Triple, and Sprint, and Daytona) parts as possible....

That's imaginary power - in reality its the other differences that make it feel that way - the power unit etc is all identical mechanically. Though you might get a teeny bit from the crossover in the exhaust its not really noticeable - take it from somebody who converted a TB to better than TBS spec - I get the same feeling (much more power) but I didnt touch the engine or carbs.

Good point - I guess I kinda assumed everybody had done that to the pre 99's by now

My uprated 95 TB has the looks and performance. I very nearly added a TBS last year but was outbid at the last minute. maybe a good thing as I then bought an S3 which is certainly different. Both are great bikes.
I've heard a rumour that Triumph may be launching a new TB.Apparently this may just be the name choice for the forthcoming 1500 twin, but it would be great if they built (in the UK !) a retro triple with at least 100bhp with good brakes and suspension.

Been hoping for that since they stopped making the classic triple line. And over here too.
