Nothing registers on the tach while cranking.

The voltage reads 13.1 while sitting ana 11.7-11.8 while cranking.

Don't know about the switches. If it gets to that point I'll have to take it in.

On my Adventurer there's a black rectangular fuse holder hanging off a pigtail and kind of stuffed between the battery box and the rear fender.

Jim

Is it the one with the yellow and brown wires? Fuse is good there.

Please say with authority: "It's definitely not the igniter."

(or anything else that costs that much)

At least I don't HAVE to have it running for a couple of months. Parking's a bitch at school and I'm too **** old to be walking from the regular lot. Would suck to not have it for the summer but my tuition and my kids tuition is the priority.

Thanks again.

I wish I could!

If I could get my hands in it..... but that's one of the problems with internet diagnosis.

I guess I should seriously consider building an ignition analyzer.

Jim

Jim,
Think of the possibilities.

One could plug the ignitor into an adaptor and into the USB port on their PC and you could run tests remotely.

Sounds like there is a market niche.

I guess it's going to the shop.

Hopefully it'll be more than four months before this happens again. Or at least until you get that analyzer worked out.

It seems too much of a co-incidence that the ignitor should go at the same time you changed the starter.

It looks like you have done something to stop the spark when you've changed it. I would certainly test out the fuses with a meter, not just scan them and go once again over all your connections.

Ride on !

Now that's what I like to hear!

I'll go pick up some fuses and replace them. I don't know what other connections I can check on though. I didn't really take much electrical apart to get the starter off.

Thanks guys.

Battery?

Yeah, I disconnected the battery, horn, and starter. That was it as far as electricity though.
