New member New bike same ole questions!

new person here from atl GA, just picked up a 98 TBS wich had a few mods but nothin special, anyway my particular TBS is a callifornia model so my first question is does this matter? second question, do i have a load if air gubbins to remove from my US spec TBS?, who does pipes and is there any noticable gains to be had from individual filters: altho i like the look, has anybody laced a 5 and a half inch rim on the back so a 180 can be run? anybody got any bodywork beside red they want to trade for my red stuff before i go painting it........

Hi and welcome to the site. That's a nice looking '98 TBS and I find that particular red attractive.

No doubt there will be a few comments to your mod request but in the meantime you can do a search of the forum. Bags of work done on the TBS.

Hi there, Bloke, and Welcome to the site. That is a beautiful bike you have there! There is a lot of information here, but I will start off by telling you that individual "pod" filters can open up a can of worms, jetting wise. Also, there is probably a charcoal canister inside of your secondary air box somewhere that does nothing, so you can take that out. There is also an inlet muffler that you can remove. If you go past that, the jetting stuff begins.
There are a couple of folks here that have fitted wider wheels, and Kawasaki ZX front end parts seem to be the rave.

I think if you paint the bike you will destroy the value of it. Look for random replacement parts on eBay and use them for your painting.

Just my two cents.

i tried doin a search and go too much info LOL im not a fan of red bikes altho between the missis and me we have four of the bloody things!

i wanted to try and keep the wire wheels and the wider tyre woz just for looks really, retroo modern kinda thing, i do sarange tstuff!
