Adventurer Handlebars
I have a '97 Adventurer which has the low handlebars. Some Adventurers seem to have higher bars and I would like to know the following:
a. Are these stock bars
b. Does the cabling, brake lines need lengthening
c. Are these available in the UK and if so where.
d. Are they more comfortable than the low bars
Thanks a lot

I have a 96 Adventurer. It had the higher bars & I switched them with a set of lower bars off of a 02 Thunderbird. They are more comfortable & the cables & lines worked out fine.

Great Corey, I'm going to stick with the lower bars.

Used to have the high bars on my Adventurer. Yes they were a stock item, you can pick them up for about £30.00 form a Triumph dealer IIRC (of course any 7/8 bar will fit). If you're using the standard cables they will all fit.
But the big question are they more comfortable? Well if you're doing a lot of motorway mileage or touring they can be, but I'd reccommend a decent screen too as the wind blast will pull on your arms a lot more so than with the lower bars. Personnally I found they slowed me down due to the position my right hand was in on the throttle, and because you're sat straight up I found they put a lot of weight on my lower back.
At the end of the day it's a personal preference thing, do you want a more cruiser style, laid back ride or something a bit more responsive?
If you really want to try the bars you can have mine for postage as I won't be going back to them.

Suilven, I also swapped out my standard tall bars for a set of standard TB bars. To me, there was a big difference in control as the long bars seemed to flex all over the place on bumpy curve filled roads.

I had the std. TB handlebars and changed them for the taller Adventurer bars and find them much more suitable for my height.

LOL I had the std T-Bird bars and hated them. I found countersteering a bit awkward with the stockers. So, I swapped them out for the Speed Triple bars. They are much neater, tighter, and look great on the bike.
As meths says - it is all about what is comfortable for you (and also the look).

I've got the taller Adventurer bars but added TBS risers to bring the front of the bars up an inch. That let me lower the grips a bit more and it's pretty comfortable for me.
Changing the grip angle can make a huge difference.
