I'll put my money on Never Dull. It is a wadding in a metal can. I used it for years on my fuel tanks when I drove large trucks for a living. With a lot of rubbing, those things looked chrome. That is the best stuff I have ever found. And Mother's makes a great metal polish as well. But, it is a liquid, so it is a bit messy.
And what I did, once I polished the tanks to a high shine, I sprayed it with clear spray paint. But, I wouldn't suggest that however, as rocks chipped it off and it looked crappy after a while.

I've never tried Never Dull. This 3M product is my favorite. I like it better than Mothers or Simichrome. It might be hard to find, but any good NAPA dealer will order it for you.

It works on both chrome and aluminium.

cheers, Denny

Try it one time. You will love it. It is so not messy. It is a wadding so you don't have to have rags or anything except to wipe it off.

Another vote for never dull, especially for maintenance. If you feel there is quit a bit of oxidation the liquid polish will save you some time and effort.

BTW the Akront allow wheels are stock on the classics up until 2000 or so.
