I have a fairing called Givi A750 on my TBS. Just enough protection and it look kind of sporty. Found it in a local store in Sweden but I’m sure you can find it elsewhere. Can post pictures later if you are interested. Here is a link to a picture in the Swedish store; http://www.touring.se/touring/Servle...11&anr=31-7251

TBird Screen

I bought a genuine Triumph Summer Screen from Ebay, it's made for the bike so it's a perfect fit, keeps the wind off and looks great.

I agree that the Triumph Summer Screen looks great and fits the bike perfectly. However, I don't like the performance. It makes a lot of turbulence resulting in pounding on the top and sides of my helmet. It also tends to pull hot air from the rad up around the knees which isn't so great in the summer.

Because of the turbulence, I replaced my summer screen with a National Cycle Street Shield EX which resulted in much less turbulence when it was adjusted just right. (It is adjustable but the Triumph Summer Screen is not.) It is much quieter because I could actually hear the engine running after installing the EX.

I then installed air scoops on either side of the headlight under the Street Shield which increased the air pressure behind the screen. This reduced the turbulence further and eliminated the wind pressure that seemed to press on my back. It still is very ineffective in cross winds.

Now I am considering the Laminar Lip that Greg mentioned because they claim it also fixes the cross wind problem - according to their testimonials on their web site.

Summary: Buying a windscreen for a Thunderbird has not been a very straightforward process for me.

A small fly-screen is a nice compromise to having none atall. I'm not really into screens but have now got a fly on both my TB and CB. I use the same Givi screen on both but is a closer and perfect fit on my CB. I'm happy enough with the small gap between the screen and my headlight on the TB.

I have a National Cycle Street Shield EX on my Thunderbird now. I just bought a Triumph Roadster screen. I will put it on tonight and see if I like it better for performance. I know it looks better. I have heard that it can destabilize the bike a little the way it catches the wind. I have to try it for myself. I might have a street shield for sale in a few weeks if I like the Triumph screen.

I put a GIVI A200 on my Adventurer after reading a recommendation here. So far I'm a little disappointed. I've got a bubble of dead air from my armpits to my neck, but get a lot of buffeting on my head and shoulders at @70+. Also, if there is any wind gusting from the side, it really pushes me around. I've tried it angled up and raked back. I'm still trying to see if there is a position that will work for me.

I'm @6', 190lb, with a 30" inseam.

There's a thread on another forum (sportbikes, I think) talking about windscreens and fairings. They recommend setting it low to get your helmet into clean air. The Tiger guys also have an interesting discussion going. They appear to be going as high and wide as possible.

First time I've tried to post photos.
