Tire review: Kenda K673 "Kruz"
I just installed a 160/80-16 Kenda K673 "Kruz" on my Adventurer last Saturday. I am pleased to report that it fit well, was easy to install, looks awesome, and feels great on the road. It is noticeably quieter and smoother than the 150/80-16 Dunlop D205 that came off, although that is probably not a fair comparison as the Dulop was very worn, and any new tire would probably have felt great compared to it.
I rode the bike fairly hard, leaned it over pretty good, and it stuck just fine.
The tire was mid-priced, but priced significantly lower than the Avons that are so popular.
I have long been a fan of Kenda off road tires for their price, longevity, and quality, and was anxious to try a street tire of theirs. Unless this tire wears out fast, it is a winner.
I purchased it at americanmototire.com as their price was unbeatable ($82.93) and the tire arrived in 3 days.
I hope to try the K673 front soon, although they do not have the proper 110/80-18 size available. They offer a 110/90-18 and I am hoping that it will do without making my speedometer too pesimistic.

I still really like them. I did install a 110/90-18 front to match. Smooth ride and minimal wear so far. I have these tires mounted on my Adventurer and I do not ride around scraping my knees and leaving darkies out of every corner, so, as Cruiser/mildly aggressive/commuting riding goes, they're great! I would buy them again. Just do not expect a super sticky race/track day tire.
Several guys have commented on how nice the rear tire looks, which surprised me. The 160/80-16 is pretty fat and the tread pattern is deep and it definately stands out.

The guys over on the twin side won't even think of trying them. See this link.

Neither would I. But tyres are a personal preference, and totally depend on the type of riding you prefer. I ride agressively through twisties, and wouldn't think of anything less than a Z rated sport-touring tyre for that reason. (Remember that you automatically reduce the rating of tubeless tires one rating with you use tubes in them.) Some people ride our bikes more like a cruiser, and they might be fine for that. I don't recall any twisty roads like in these parts over in Sioux City
Not much of a savings over what I paid for my last set of Avons anyway - maybe 20 bucks total.
Oh, and Kem - you need to lighten up a bit, dude - chill....

Maybe he has stock in Kenda! Based on the thread in the twins forum, it seems like there is some sort of agenda.

Kendas gotta be better than Cheng Shins.
I bought a used Honda years ago that had a brand new Cheng on the back. The tire went bald in about 3 months.

I run Avons and always will. They instill confidence for me while I'm riding. Tires are a source of great debate. I run tires I'm comfortable with. My 2 cents.

Are these(Kenda) tyres of Chinese Origin
If they are, they will be great! Having just spent time in China overviewing some of their manufacturing processes (heavy) we in the West have a lot to learn! In time, and very short time at that, they are going to, out skill, out price, out quality, and supply us with all our motoring needs. Goodbye GM, Ford, Honda and the rest. And, watch out Triumph, Harley etc.m Sad, but going to happen.

This was perfect timing for this one! I was just out at my Triumph dealer a week ago to order tires & he was trying to sell me these Kenda's. I have only been riding for a little over two years, first bike! So you know I have limited knowledge on motorcycle tires. I do want to jump up from a 160 rear to a 180 but am having trouble finding a matched set. I have been looking at Avon & Metzeler. Does it matter if the front & rear have different patterns? I am looking for a tire to cruise on as well as enjoy the twisties through Western PA. All help & suggestions appreciated here!
