Fender Eliminator

I'd like to remove my rear fender on my 2000 TBS, and was thinking about buying the Mecatwin kit. But how hard could it be to make my own fender eliminator setup? I have a friend who is willing to fabricate some metal to make it work.

I noticed a few on the site who have done this. Does anyone have a guide or measurements on the best way to do this? Or, does anyone have some closeup photos of the Mecatwin kit so I can copy it?

Anyone??
