Bent lower triple tree

I'm new to bikes, just got my Thunderbird a month ago. Got my licence today.Thats all the good news. It has a rebuilt title. The front forks were not straight. They are now ;but the lower triple tree bracket is bent. Any leads on a replacement? Thanks Nick

Congratulations on your license AND your choice of bikes!

As for your parts needs, if you can't find what you need here, Ebay is your best bet.

There have been a few TT's on there as of late. One is avl now but it's in the UK. Although shipping may be a tad more expensive than what you're used to, it may end up cheaper than the $300 + they want for a new one!

Cheers.

These guys straightened my fork tubes and lower clamp after I crashed and at a very reasonable price compared to replacing the parts.

I had to refinish it since the clear coat was damaged, but functionally it's fine.

I'm not anxious to have it straightened. It has one of the bump stops sheared off; but will if I can not find one. There is a 2000 955 speed triple lower head stock on e-bay 160167072899. Anyone know if this is the same part on a 2000 Thunderbird? Nick

The S3 uses 45mm forks and the Legend 43mm so at the very least you would have the sleeve it down.

completely and utterly different.

You should seek out one from a Thunderbird, legend or adventurer. I'm not 100% sure they are identical (off set wise) but if you get upper and lover trees together they will be a bolt on swap. Slightly harder (and much rarer) woudl be a set from a Thunderbird sport. Much harder but could still be made to fit: Early 885 Sprint, Daytona, Trophy or Trident - these would bolt on but you would have to modify the upper to fit the clocks and bars. They are also generally black in color so look different.
