Vey interesting, J. I hate to ask, but if you are willing, could you remove the seat from your HD and see if it looks possible to get it mounted on your Adventurer? My Adventurer is a '96 and it has a key lock on the front section and a pull latch on the rear section. I believe that yours may be different, but I am mostly concerned with seeing if the general contour of the HD seat fits the Adventurer frame. I figure that I should be able to modify the mounting if I can get that far.
Pics would be nice if it looks reasonable. You may post them here or send me a PM and we can talk off forum.
Thanks!

sure. i'll look at it over the weekend.

my adventurer seat attaches with 2 allen head screws in the rear. not the handiest arrangement.

my fxr seat is a corbin gunfighter/lady. i don't have the original seat, but should still be a good indicator of how it will sit on the frame.

rear section is slightly different between an adv. and tbird, i think.

Great! Thanks, J! I do not expect you to go to all kinds of trouble here....but any information you could give would certainly be appreciated.

From both a HD and Triumph owner

For all those HD bashers; at least I can readily find parts for my '03 Road King Classic (trouble free and well maintained after 21k miles) unlike finding parts for my TB and Legend TT. Hate to think we would lower ourselves to a "Ford vs Chevy/Dodge" mentality. As the great Rodney King said, "why can't we all just get along?"

The FXR is not a Dyna, they have different frames.

Roady - I didn't see anyone bashing Harley here at all? Hopefully you aren't just trying to stir something up here. Let's keep it real - this is a great discussion.

Scot

P.S. - I've never had any trouble finding parts for my T-Bird. Maybe you aren't looking in the right place? Of course, that is also relative to how much effort you are willing to put out.

There are certainly models from any motorcycle manufacturer that are more challenging to find parts for. As an informed consumer, you are of course responsible for investigating that before purchasing any bike. Part of the purchase decision is deciding whether you are willing to deal with the particular quirks associated with said bike's ownership. I personally like the rarity of these bikes, and that correlates to having to put in a bit more effort to maintain it than you would for a very popular model.

Indeed, I just went for an inspection sticker today and the proprieter enjoyed looking my bike over. I enjoyed looking at the nifty 1963 Chevy II that he was working on. He then took me to his separate garage and opened it up so I could see his Vega Pro-Street car. Awesome! The engine was huge and he had this small aluminum can that had fuel line coming out of it. I asked what it was and he smiled and told me that folks don't use those very often anymore. It was a can that you filled with ice and it had coils of fuel line inside! Nice!
Anyway, I doubt that he would have showed me all of that stuff if I had pulled up on a Honda or just another Harley. That, my friends, is part of the fun of owning a T3 Classic! They open doors!

Very nice, but that looks like a rough ride! No fender, No Inspection Sticker around here...

ok, here's what i found

i finally got time to dig the triumph out and check the fxr seat on it. doesn't even come close to being the right shape. i would suggest the easier thing to do would be to take a stock seatpan and have someone reshape the foam and re-cover it.
