Good to go! Hope I'm good to stop! Brake question

Started right up after the long upstate NY winter. New rear tire (7000 miles on OEM). Waxed, soaked chain when the wheel was off (kero) then waxed it- dry lube.

Anyway- wondering what the minimum acceptable brake pad thickness is? (Hint: being American and ex. carpenter I think best in fractions of an inch!

I'm all excited to ride! Maybe tomorrow I'll take a spin.

On most brake pads, there is a groove down the center of the friction material. When that groove becomes flush with the surrounding pad, you should replace the pads. I'm thinking that occurs when there is about 1/16" of material left. That's what it looks like to me but I've never measured it.

Good luck,

Noel
