Alright guys I have been doing so research and havent come up with much. I recently purchased a Bonneville seat for cheap with the plan of modifying it to fit my legend. I am hoping I can get it all set so others can use this as a reference tool for themselves.
Problems:
1: Rear screw holes dont line up. My solution is to use a small plate of metal mounted to the Bonne seat with holes to line up to the stock location.
2: Tongue is further back on the Bonne seat. My fix is to make a bracket to mount under where the tank bolts to the frame to have the tongue grab be further back.
3: Metal tabs dont line up. I just bent the tabs on the Bonne seat inward and got them to line up.
4: Rubber grommets dont touch the frame. Current plan is to weld a small amount of pipe to the frame to bring it up to meet the seat. I am working on a less permanent solution for this.
5: The gap between the frame and the new seat. With the mock ups I have done there is about an inch window that you can look through between the seat and frame. I am going to use some flat black ABS plastic to fill in that space. I am thinking of other options here to but I think that my current idea will work pretty good.
I am open to questions/suggestions/criticisms.
