Corbin for a '04 TBS ?

Some time ago, there was a posting saying that Corbin was looking for someone with a later TBS to contact them so that they could make a seat to suit.

The only thing they mention on their website is for the earlier models.

Does anyone have any idea regarding the availability of Corbins for '04s?

I need to get one QUICK as my wife and I rode a bike while in Australia last week that had a Corbin fitted and it was VERY comfortable and SWMBO has given me the 'go ahead' to get a new seat for the TBS.

I made the original post about them looking for a later Thunderbird.
It isn't listed as one of the bikes they need anymore, so either they've made it or decided not to. Give them a call (be warned, their customer service is horrible). I added a latch to mine to accept the corbin (and have 2 corbins), so I haven't kept tabs on whether they came out with one to fit without modification or not.

Here are the bikes they are looking for now:

I have a Corbin on my Trophy and it's very comfortable. The problem with it is that it weighs approx. 4 times as much as my Triumph saddle. Just adds to the top heavy talk. I had my Legend seat reworked by Sargent and it is remarkable. If you have a choice then go the Sargent's route.

Ride in Custom work from Corbin means more things are available than just their standard off the shelf items.

Thanks for that link Tony,
Looks like I need to give them a call.

I had thought about getting a seat the same as that one, with the yellow piping, but now that I have seen it, I think I will go for all black.

Denny,

Riding in to get the work done, could be a minor problem for me, or at least it would make the seat and expensive exercise.

The regular Corbin TBird seat is not difficult to adapt to a TBS.

click

And here

Just move the latch pin, and rotate it 180 degrees. Change the rubber bumper thicknesses so that they rest on the subframe.

True enough, but If I am paying over $300 for a seat, I want it to fit when I get it and not have to fart around in the garage to make it fit.

If they can do totally custom seats they should be able to make one fit a TBS

Custom Seat Alternatives

Sprint Mfg in the UK does a nice seat on an exchange basis:

And then there's the guy Spencer in Georgia
http://greatdaytoride.com/Home_Page.php

Has also gotten some good reviews.

I was pretty successful at making my TBS seat pretty comfortable with a little work (looks stock though)

Here's a link to my post on that subject.....

True enough - but nothing Corbin does custom is fast, in my experience. You'd be better off picking one up on eBay and modifying it to fit.

Or, get one of the custom shops to fab one on your seat pan...
