Does the Legend take oil filter....Fram CH6012 ??

oil filters are a heated topic here so i'll just say i think the general consensus is stay away from fram for anything. however, to answer your question.. i don't know but my '98 t-bird sport accepts the CH6012.

Yes, Fram CH6012 is correct for the T3 motor.

many people, not just on this forum, have experienced fram filters failing on them. i've heard of incidents from a simple collapsed filter to pieces of the filter have gone missing to damaged engines. this being the "idiotnet" take your pick on which to believe. myself, having never heard of such rampant failure from any of the vast majority of other filters, i choose to steer clear of impending disaster at any level. therefore, no fram for anything i own.

Fram filter

go to ' Modifications & Workshop Talk ' forum check Parts interchangeability or do a search for 'oil filter' there is lotsa data to read there, I have also read that Fram's are poor quality

Also go here http://motorcycleinfo.calsci.com/ for great info on oil ,oil filters and everything else mtorcycle

for $80 you break even in roughly 6 oil changes. might be worth it.

Weren't the questionable Frams the spin ons? It seems the type used on these bikes with the metal end caps didn't have any problems. I'm using Emgo, but they came without O rings.
