Draining the motor oil

I have an early VIN 1996 Adventurer. I changed my oil last fall, using Mobil 1 motorcycle oil. After I was done, I noticed what appeared to be a second drain plug. My new oil darkened quickly leading me to believe that I had left a small amount of old oil in the bike.
After looking on bikebandit, I saw that later VIN models did not have this second plug. The second plug looks like it is indeed located in a "pocket" that would hold a maybe a cup of old oil.
I have pulled plugs on other bikes before that turned out to be shift detent ball/spings, or some other item.
Has anyone else noticed or used a second drain plug on their T3C?
Thanks!

I pull both plugs when I do oil changes. No ill effects that I have seen.

IIRC one is a take off for an oil cooler - not used on the classics and the lower one is the drain plug

I guess that I just wanted to verify that it was, indeed, another sump plug. Mission accomplished! Next time I will pull both.
Thanks!
